Paprika Returns

Paprika’s newest film, All You Need is Love, has landed international distribution deals.  The romantic comedy from Oscar-winning director Susanne Biers (In A Better World) will be brought to the UK by Arrow Films and to the US by Sony Pictures Classics. Additional agreements have been inked for Turkey (Euromedia LLC.), India (Picture Works), Mexico (Cine Video), and Middle East (Falcon Films). Written by Oscar winner Anders Thomas Jensen (who also penned the screenplay for In A Better World), the picture stars Steen opposite Trine Dyrholm (Troubled Water) and Golden Globe nominee Pierce Brosnan. The picture will screen first in Denmark and Sweden in August, followed by the Netherlands and France in December.

SF Chronicle Interview

The San Francisco Chronicle ran an interview with Paprika Steen this past weekend, anticipating the release in San Francisco and Berkeley on Friday, April 13th.  Here's a selection from the article:

"I never bring the character home," she says. Instead, Steen applies lessons learned while making stripped-down Dogme films in the 1990s. She says, "Dogme taught me to think in the now and to dance with the camera. I started to see it as a partner instead of a big strange instrument that controlled me. The camera became my friend."

Paprika Takes The Prize!

On March 2, Paprika took home the 2012 Bodil-Prize Award for her performance in SuperClasico. The ceremony, held at the Bremen Theater in Copenhagen, is presented by the National Association of Film Critics of Denmark. Congratulations, Paprika!
